Attention is Key

The foundation of our training has to do with the concept of attention, because the first thing you need in order to work with your dog is their attention. Once we have our dog's attention, anything's possible. Well show you how to capture attention and how to hold it.

 

Create Default Behaviors

Once we have easy access to our dog's attention we then begin to create default behaviors.

Good behavior is turned into habit through reward and repetition with real life as the lesson plan:

• Attention
• Targeting
• Spot Training
• Loose Leash Walking
• Recalls

 

Create Games from Default Behavior

We then create some games using these behaviors. These games are fun and help dog and handler learn to both teach and learn in a distraction filled environment. Once learning becomes a game, the dogs are hooked on their handlers in public. Your dog will work to offer you good behavior!

Interaction I

The journey starts with Interaction I on the White Pine Trail, in the city of Rockford and the surrounding parks. Teams will be exposed to other dogs, kids, bikes, in a high foot traffic and community environment. Learn to handle your dog on leash in public.

Interaction II

Expanding on the on leash foundation of Interaction I, Interaction II is an off leash experience taking place at Pawsitive Vybe HQ. Learn to handle your dog off leash in the presence of other dogs and distractions.
